Urban Progress’ Luc Vrolijks has taken the initiative with Maarten Konigs and Frank Bosboom (both from Holland Branding Group) to implement the “Master Class Sustainable Alliances for Urban and Regional Development”.

The Master Class initially focuses on experienced professionals in the field of urban and regional development in Europe.  It strengthens their capacity and effectiveness in working in alliances for sustainable urban and regional development. Participants improve their understanding of the wide range of planning and sustainability practices throughout Europe, learn effective strategies for working in complex alliances, and increase their abilities in directing urban and regional development towards sustainability goals.

The Master Class is a series of five three-day master classes, an opening and closing conference and two public seminars to which participants can invite their network. Each master class features one master on the key organizational topic at stake and a master on the core substantive area of the master class. Subgroups of participants form a community of practice which will be coached between and after the master class series. Each participant, during the whole course, also works on one actual personal case. During the course, participants prepare, digest and evaluate in smaller groups guided by coaches.
